      In addition to planning this itinerary in reverse (arriving in Montreal and departing from Toronto), this itinerary provides several customization options:


      COMBINE WITH ANOTHER TOUR SEGMENT:

      • Extend your stay in Toronto for time to see additional attractions (Depending arrival time into Toronto, some of the suggested optional highlights for Toronto could be included on Day 1.)
      • Add additional cultural experiences with tour segments from Stratford & Shaw Festival, including theatre productions and an introduction to the Mennonite community in Southern Ontario
      • In the fall, a side trip up to the Agawa Canyon might be included
      • While in Ontario, a side trip up to Huntsville or Muskoka might be included

      COMBINE WITH A CRUISE

      • Guests could arrive in Boston, and take the New England and Atlantic Canada cruise from Boston to Quebec City.  This itinerary would then be operated in reverse, and guests would departing for home from Toronto.
    • Day-to-Day Itinerary

      Day 1: Travel to Toronto

      Arrive in Toronto in the morning, and the group will meet with tour director and motorcoach to be delivered to hotel to check-in, have breakfast, and freshen up.  Enjoy an overview city tour, and then spend the rest of the day exploring the city on your own.

      Day 2: The Sights of Toronto

      Enjoy a continental breakfast, then visit the attractions in Toronto, the most populous metropolis in Canada: the new and old city halls, as well as the provincial parliament, Chinatown, the Harbourfront, the University of Toronto, the CN Tower, the Rogers Centre stadium, and the Hockey Hall of Fame.  In the summer, a visit to Canada’s Wonderland might be fun, or a visit to the McMichael Gallery, just north of Toronto in Kleinburg. In late afternoon, continue on to Niagara Falls.  After checking into the hotel, enjoy a special dinner at a vineyard, featuring the local cuisine.

      Day 3:  The Sights of Niagara Falls

      After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, experience Niagara Falls: enjoy a city tour for an overview of Niagara Falls, cruise at the base of the falls on the Hornblower (depending on time of year), spend free time on Clifton Hill Street to visit some of the interesting places such as the wax museum and the souvenir shops. Guests may even want to have lunch overlooking the falls at the Skylon Tower.  After lunch, head eastward, and enjoy a cruise (depending on time of year) and dinner in the Thousand Islands, and arrive in Ottawa.

      Day 4: The Sights of Ottawa

      Enjoy breakfast at the hotel followed by a guided city tour of the must-see landmarks in Ottawa: Chateau Laurier, the city hall, the residences of the Prime Minister and Governor General, the Rideau Canal and the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Ottawa, among other attractions. (Depending on the time of year, a sightseeing cruise, or skating on the Rideau Canal might be possible.) In the afternoon, visit the Byward Market, and perhaps provide guests with a museum pass to visit their choice of national museums such as: The Canadian Museum of History, The Canadian War Museum, The National Gallery of Canada, and the Canadian Museum of Nature. For the evening, enjoy the dinner show, “Oh Canada, Eh!”


      Day 5: Welcome to Québec

      After breakfast, bid farewell to Ottawa and travel to Québec, with a stop at Mont-Tremblant, famous for its European charm and unique natural beauty. The village offers a festive atmosphere and is an ideal place to breathe in the fresh air and beautiful mountain scenery.  Continue to Québec City, and on arrival, take in an overview city tour before checking into accommodations.

      Day 6: Sainte Anne de Beaupré Basilica & Île d'Orléans

      After breakfast at the hotel, depart for the Albert Gilles Copper Museum to see stunning copper works from around the world and discover how this soft, pretty metal is plucked from the earth. Visit the beautiful Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Basilica, noting that the main doors were hand-made of copper by the talented sculptor, Albert Gilles. 


      Late morning, depart for quaint Île d'Orléans (Isle of Orleans) with the first stop being lunch at Le Moulin St Laurent. While touring the island, sample chocolate at La Chocolaterie de I’Île, and ciders and apple products at the Cidrerie Verger Bilodeau. In the wintertime, instead of visiting the Île d'Orléans, an option is to have lunch at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, followed by a guided tour of this special hotel, and then a dog sled ride, an unforgettable winter experience.


      Next, it’s a visit to the majestic Montmorency waterfall. These falls are 30 meters higher than those in Niagara. With a gondola ride, take in spectacular views of the falls. Then guests will return to Québec City, having the remainder of the day is explore on their own: stroll the narrow streets of the old city, shop in the boutiques of the Quartier Petit-Champlain, explore museums and galleries, and choose from the plethora of interesting dining options.


      Day 7: The Sights of Montreal

      After breakfast, depart for Montréal, a large Canadian city that, after Paris, is the largest French-speaking city in the world and see its Olympic stadium, site of the 1976 Olympic games; the oratory of San José, cataloged as the largest in the world dedicated to the Saint. In old Montréal, see the parade ground, the old port, the Notre Dame Basilica and Jacques Cartier square.  For dinner, enjoy a special treat: authentic Québequois fare at a “sugar shack”.

      Day 8: Explore Montréal

      Today will involve a lot of exploring on foot, so a hearty breakfast is in order. Experience a walking tour of the city subway system, with modern passages through which you can reach various, restaurants, cinemas and stores of all kinds. By subway, you will be able to access landmark buildings and Ste-Catherine, Montreal's main shopping street. The rest of the day is free time to visit museums, shop or enjoy the international cuisine that this city has to offer.


      Day 9: Depart for home

      Options for the day will depend on flight times.  The group will be transferred to the airport in good time for their flight.

      During this tour there will be a fair amount of walking, so you’ll want to be sure you have comfortable footwear. 


      If motion/seasickness can be an issue, you’ll want to bring along your remedies so that you can fully enjoy the cruise experiences.
